Learners are expected to attend all six days and take part fully in the training and assessments. 📚 Mandatory pre-course self-study: before the course starts, all learners must complete the required self-study, which we will send to you after booking. You will not be able to start the classroom training until your self-study has been completed. What Does the Course Cover? The course is a mix of classroom learning and practical training, made up of four units: Unit 1 – Principles of Working in the Private Security Industry The law, roles and responsibilities within the security industry, health and safety, fire safety and emergency procedures, communication and customer care, recording incidents, terror threat awareness and keeping vulnerable people safe. Unit 2 – Principles of Working as a Door Supervisor The role of a Door Supervisor, licensing law, admissions and refusing entry, searching, dealing with drugs and offensive weapons, powers of arrest, preserving crime scenes and keeping customers safe. Unit 3 – Application of Conflict Management Recognising, preventing and de-escalating conflict, effective communication, dealing with difficult situations and practising realistic conflict scenarios. Unit 4 – Application of Physical Intervention Skills Understanding the risks of physical intervention and how to reduce them, plus hands-on practical training in disengagement, holding and escorting techniques with a qualified physical intervention trainer. How Are You Assessed? Each unit is assessed by a multiple-choice exam, alongside practical assessments for searching, conflict management and physical intervention, carried out during the course. Before You Book • You must be 18 or over • You must complete the mandatory self-study before the first day of the course • A valid First Aid certificate is required for this qualification – this is covered, as Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work is included in your course price • A good standard of English is required (equivalent to CEFR level B2) • You need to be fit enough to take part in the practical physical intervention training • Wear comfortable clothing and footwear suitable for the practical sessions Where Can It Take You?
