Level 2 Security Officer Refresher with Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work The Highfield Level 2 Award for Security Officers in the Private Security Industry (Refresher) is designed for existing SIA Security Officer licence holders. Completing this refresher qualification is an SIA requirement when renewing your Security Officer licence, and it keeps you up to date with current legislation, best practice and developments within the private security industry. ✅ Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work is INCLUDED in the course price – no extra cost. This is a 1-day course, running 9:30am – 5:30pm. How the Day Works In line with SIA requirements, your Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work qualification must be completed in full before the Security Officer Refresher training begins. The day therefore runs in this order: 1. Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work – practical session and assessment in class (the first aid theory is completed online before the course) 2. Security Officer Refresher – once your first aid is complete, the refresher classroom presentation followed by your assessments 📚 Mandatory pre-course learning: before the course, you must complete the Security Officer self-study, the ACT Awareness and ACT Security e-learning, and the online Emergency First Aid theory. We will send you everything you need after booking. You will not be able to take part in the classroom training until these have been completed. What Does the Course Cover? Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work (completed first) • Practical first aid skills, including CPR and dealing with an unresponsive casualty Principles of Working as a Security Officer (Refresher) • Conducting effective searches • Keeping vulnerable people safe • Spiking awareness and prevention • Terror threat awareness and how to respond How Are You Assessed? Your first aid practical skills are assessed by the trainer first. The Security Officer Refresher is then assessed by a multiple-choice exam and a filmed practical searching assessment. Before You Book • You must hold an SIA Security Officer licence • You must complete all pre-course learning before the course date • A valid First Aid certificate is required for this qualification – this is covered, as Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work is included in your course price • Bring valid ID in line with SIA requirements (1 Group A document and 2 Group B documents) and one passport-size photograph • A good standard of English is required (equivalent to CEFR level B2) • Wear comfortable clothing suitable for the practical sessions On successful completion you will receive the Highfield Level 2 Award for Security Officers in the Private Security Industry (Refresher) and your Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work certificate, allowing you to renew your SIA Security Officer licence and continue your career in the security industry.
